So this is the first post that I'm putting up that I recorded with the binaural head that I built. My previous binaural recordings were made with a head-worn system (found here). I based this one from Jeff Anderson's design (which can be found here. I tried it the exact way he did it, but I wasn't getting the sound I wanted, so I improvised a bit and combined my old design with his design to come up with this: I used the same head and silicon ears that Jeff Anderson used, then I attached Countryman B6 lavs into the ears with foam (in the same way I wore them in my post referenced above). ‘Avatar’ DVD and Blu-ray to Arrive on Earth Day

Cameron likes mother earth. We all do. But he really likes it. So much so that he decided to push for a DVD release date for Avatar to be on Earth Day (April 22, 2010). It actually seems a bit early for a DVD release for me, but he wants to make his point. This is only for the non-3D version however. Cameron told the Wall Street Journal that the 3D version won't be out until the end of the year. I'm actually interested to see the sales numbers of the normal version vs. the 3D one. With its stunning visuals and other-worldly (literally) creatures, Avatar needed to pack a huge sonic punch, or there was no way Cameron would be able to sell Pandora to the audience.
